Vintage New Yorkpocket Knife Co Walden Hammer BrandGreetings. Here we have a 3.75 bone handled new york knife co, walden ny, hammer brand pocket knife. The image of the ram and hammer is shown on the neck of the blade. New york knife co (1856-1931) was the first and most noteworthy knife-making company in walden, the upstate ny town very much noted for its quality cutlery. Many of these hammer brand knives have serial numbers. This one dose not. Perhaps the older hammers did not ahve serial numbers (can anyone tell me? ). Condition. I have not attempted to clean or polish this knife. Teh blades have signs of light surface wear. This knife has been used a bit, but it has certainly not been abused. The small blade has a little rust spot near the walden stamp (see photo). A nice buffing should put these blades in very fine shape. Teh handle appears to be in very fine condition. It is crisp and tight. Finally, the snap-back action on both blades is excellent. Please wait for my invoice before paying. Monye orders and checks are preferred! . Paypal is also accepted.
